Dustin James

Meet our co-founder and graphic designer, Dustin James. Born and raised in Western Maine on a family farming operation, Dustin has a unique appreciation for family owned, local business. This appreciation has allowed Dustin to become highly skilled in business branding, print design, photography and business development.

After high school, Dustin spent time seeing other parts of the country and expanded his horizons beyond the secluded communities of Western Maine. He has spent time in a number of diverse industries including interior design and firearm manufacturing. Following several years away, Dustin has traced back to his roots and has settled back into the mountains of Western Maine.

He and his family raise registered Belted Galloway and Hereford cattle, own an organic dairy operation and produce award winning Maine Maple Syrup. The family has been fortunate enough to achieve success with their livestock including national and international champion Belted Galloway cattle.

Kaye & Jeff Kaufman

Kaye Woolam Kaufman, Benchmark co-founder and designer, has invested her entire life to the Agriculture industry and a good part of it to marketing in one form or another. Originally from New England, Kaye grew up on a Registered Hereford and Southdown operation and then went to Colorado State University where she was active in Block and Bridle and numerous judging teams; however it was her duty of being the student manager of the CSU bull test sale for two years that sparked her interest in livestock promotions.

Upon graduation, Kaye was the youngest and first female Executive Director of the Virginia Angus Association, at VAA they produced 15+ sale catalogs a year and a 200+ page membership directory, thus prompting her to learn graphic design and publishing in a really fast paced environment.

Over the years Kaye has continued to do free-lance photography and design work as a side job to full-time jobs on farm and in corporate America, in May of 2020, growing Benchmark and establishing the business even further became a full-time commitment.

Kaye maintains the KY Benchmark location with her husband Jeff and two daughters, Julia and Anna Weaber. Jeff assists part-time with the book keeping at Benchmark and is also the Manager of Tamme Valley Angus. The family also operates Agri-Exposure, LLC which provides custom boarding options for cattle producers looking to prep cattle for shows and sales.


Donna Woolam - Director of Operations

Bringing a lifetime of valuable skills and experiences to our team in April of 2022, Donna has seamlessly taken the reign of day-to-day operations and direct customer service. With a deep-rooted passion for excellence, Donna's extensive background as a fair executive and her success in raising and exhibiting nationally competitive breeding cattle and purebred sheep over the past four decades have solidified her expertise in various domains.

Alongside her professional achievements, Donna has had lengthy careers in the non-profit sector, printing industry, and fair management, lending her a well-rounded understanding of diverse industries. Within our business structure, Donna is the friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for any inquiries or orders, ensuring that your experience with us is smooth and efficient.

FUN FACTS: In addition to her remarkable professional journey, Donna has a special affinity for "all things Christmas," igniting joy and enthusiasm throughout the holiday season. Surprisingly, Donna's transition into full-time work with us came only three days after her retirement, proving that she thrives on purpose and productivity. On a personal note, Donna is an unwavering UCONN basketball fan, exhibiting her loyalty and passion for the team for an impressive span of 50 years.

Julia Weaber

Julia Weaber has been with Benchmark since day 1 and has actively been a part of building our current client base. She grew up in Central KY on a diversified livestock operation and had had the opportunity to show cattle successfully on the national level and recently has taken an interest in showing pigs.

Julia and her sister Anna are active youth livestock exhibitors and keep the team abreast on current trends among the younger population.

Julia is currently a full-time remote student at NEO A&M, majoring in Early Childhood Development and Education since the onset of COVID. Based out of the KY office, Julia is available to answer any of your sales related needs.

Sarah Johnson

As we experienced tremendous growth in 2020, we expanded our sale’s team and Sarah was an absolutely perfect, natural fit. Growing up in the heart of Agriculture in rural Ohio and successfully building her own brand, we knew Sarah was going to be able to relate to our customer base. We also felt that with her outgoing personality and desire to sell, she was going to be help build our client list. She has done just that!

Sarah grew up showing cattle and sheep on the regional and national level and was blessed with the opportunity to serve on the Limousin Jr Board, where she expanded her network and developed her leadership skills even further while she was in attendance at The Ohio State University.
